  1. Is there a way to find out the names of the puppies in a specific litter? We have Topaz from 11/14 and know one of her brothers is Taco. We wanted the other names to put on her Facebook photos.

  3. Lani's raiser has a blog- and is raising Truffle, FYI.

  4. To Laurel's question regarding puppy names: all of the puppies in a litter are given names that start with the same letter of the alphabet (for instance, a "T" litter). The names have to be unique (no other active GDB program dog can have the same name; program dogs include working guides, puppies in the puppy raising program, and active breeding stock dogs). Once a dog is retired or career changed, the name can be reused. Also, the names have to be short (one or two syllables, generally), and easy to say. The breeding stock custodians can submit names for their dog's litters. We have one person on staff that is responsible for keeping track of all the names and assigning names to the pups. Inspiration for names comes from many sources: atlases, dictionaries, car names, baby name books... you name it! It's a big job!

  5. Well I was lucky enough to come upon your comment as I have one of the 'T' litter puppies. His name is Timothy and he is the smartest little sweetheart! They did not have enough raisers on the west coast so he was flown out to Colorado a week ago Tues at 10.5 weeks. So now we know 4/6 of the names - Taco, Topaz, Truffle and Timothy. 2 to go...

  6. I am getting Kyle, one of the Dutch and Gracie pups, as a transfer puppy. He is being transferred to me within the next two weeks. Does anyone know where any of his littermates ended up? I know the names of five of the six of them...Kaya (the only female), Kearney, Keegan, Keifer, and Kendrick.
